Chiropractic is different from the medical care you might be used to. There are 4 basic principles of chiropractic:
- The body is self-healing. If you get a cut, it will heal. If a corpse is cut, it won’t
- The brain and nerves are what run, regulate and heal your body.
- Stress (physical, mental, chemical, electromagnetic) can cause interference & disturbance to one or more of your nerve circuits.
- Chiropractic adjustments gently & systematically reverse this process.
Pain and other symptoms are your body’s way of alerting you to a problem, like the “check engine light” in your car. The purpose of most drugs is to suppress your symptoms, whether it is pain or inflammation.
The chiropractic adjustment does not suppress your body, but goes deeper and wakes up its ability to heal.
The first step is to release the stress on your nerve system. As your body starts to wake up from doing this, it can then start to re-organize and re-build healthy patterns in the nerve circuits, creating a more resilient and vibrant you!
This principle always works. However, the speed of your body’s response varies widely and depends on countless stresses, lifestyle choices and injury severity. Healing is a process that takes time and is definitely a partnership between myself and you.
In conclusion: Chiropractic is a drugless approach to healthcare that uses the body’s natural healing energy to address the issues that bring you in to see me. I focus on rebuilding your natural reserves while coaching you to make wiser and healthier decisions. Most of our practice members learn that chiropractic can be used to get well and stay well for a lifetime. Welcome to the way of the future: less drugs and more control over your health!
Look forward to enjoying a longer and healthier life!
Gentle Chiropractic Adjustments: My chiropractic adjustments are both gentle and powerful. The adjustment is more effective since people are more relaxed when they receive it. For example, I can adjust your neck without twisting your head around. The gentle techniques I utilize include Torque Release, Koren Specific Technique (KST), and Applied Kinesiology,
Nutritional counseling, cold laser therapy & jin shin jytsu (acupuncture without needles): additional tools to powerfully support your healing process.
My ideal patient is one who is committed to a healthy lifestyle and uses long term chiropractic care for wellness as part of that lifestyle
A frequently asked question
Once I start going to a chiropractor, will I have to go the rest of my life?
Although many of my practice members choose to get regular chiropractic as part of a wellness lifestyle, it is always up to you how long you want to continue. I do my best to educate so you can make informed decisions about your health.
My Vision for the Future
I would like to see less people using drugs to temporarily cover their pain and more people focused on creating a healthy lifestyle, and using long term wellness chiropractic as part of that.
